My predictions:

1) Cien defeats the Perfect 10, clean.
Nothing really to discuss here. A hyped debut is not doing anything but winning clean over a developmental enhancement talent. Maybe if this were against the Drifter I could see them going for an upset since they're so sorely lacking in midcard and main event heels right now, but ...

2) The Revival cheat American Alpha out of the titles.
AA are absolutely getting called up during the Draft, and The Revival need the rub of having the belts more than AA needs another month on their reign before getting called up. Plus they've clearly built a feud with Gargano / Ciampa (who probably splinter off with Ciampa turning heel, and TM61 being the next challenge).

3) Asuka retains, Jax protected.
They didn't build Nia back up just to have her lose clean again. This one I'm a bit iffy on, tho - they could have her lose again, and send her away for another couple months to lose even more weight. I'm not saying she has to, just it's pretty obvious what they had her focusing on while off tv last time - but anyway then have her come back after Bayley and Asuka have finished their business. Asuka crushes cans until the Bayley rematch, Bayley wins. Asuka moves up. Jax returns, takes belt from Bayley, Bayley moves up. By then we have a new crop of face ladies (like Tessa Blanchard, Ricochet's lady)

4) Shinsuke defeats Aries.
For here I'll leave it at: Aries turns full heel after the match by destroying Nakamura. More on my call for this match in the main event discussion:

5) Samoa Joe retains in dominant fashion, yet Bálor protected.
Ultimately ... I think Joe is keeping this title, because Nakamura is the person clearly being built for next run at the championship. There are just no main event heels but Joe right now, and Aries after Takeover. However, since this is supposed to be the end of this feud ... well, the only way that happens is if someone is written off tv until they get called up. And I think that's Finn.

Ultimately the main event is the match I'm least certain about ... even Austin/Shinsuke, which hangs on the outcome of the main event, the way I see it. Maybe The Club come down and help Balor regain. Maybe The Usos happen to show up to counter them.

More realistically, and I've mentioned this before, maybe Finn does a stomp off the cage and "injures" himself, and Joe hits a muscle buster / chokes him out. Or Balor does a shotgun dropkick that knocks Joe through the cage, but then Joe destroys him with a muscle buster on the floor (setting it up from off the apron or something). No matter what happens, tho, this match is gonna be like 20-25 minutes long and it's gonna be amazing and I know the finish will not disappoint. These guys are just too talented.

Tag match should be great, but it's the one I think most likely to not live up to expectations (is anyone really hyped for Asuka / Jax ? And Cien / 10, no one's expecting much, but I think it could surprise). And of course the featured non-title match is gonna blow the roof off - that one's gonna get like 15-20 minutes, itself. Very hyped for this card.

1. Andrade defeats Dillinger with a split legged corkscrew senton in a very solid opener. Dillinger looks good Andrade impresses and lives up to the hype as a main player in NXT.

2. The Revival defeat American Alpha with a Shatter Machine. Gable takes the pin. I have Revival winning because American Alpha are expected to be called up soon I read. Plus they are already laying the seeds for Gargano and Ciampa and The Revival.

3. Nia Jax defeats Asuka after two leg drops. Nia Jax has to be made to look dominant. She already put Bayley out of action. Asuka can get some offense in but to put Nia over as an unstoppable force this has to look like the Cena/Brock match at Summerslam. After the match Jax keeps the attack on Asuka. Bayley comes out and Jax leaves. Bayley tries to help Asuka to her feet but then Asuka kicks Bayley in the head. Setting up a potential triple threat next.

4. Nakamura defeats Aries with the Kinshasa. Both guys get to put their skillsets on display. After the match, Shinsuke gets attacked by Bobby Roode. Aries looks on confused but then joins in on the assault of Nakamura.

5. Samoa Joe defeats Finn Balor with a Muscle Buster off the top of the cage. Both men will put it all on the line. Balor will lay Joe out at some point, but instead of escaping climbs to the top of the cage for a Coup de Grace. Joe capitalizes hitting a huge Muscle Buster putting Finn away and ending their feud.

As for Joe's next feud, you could catapult Andrade Almas in there or a returning Hideo Itami.

Nakamura will be tied up with Roode and Aries maybe finds a partner. Shinsuke won the right to a title shot down the line so at the next Takeover show he can get it.

Now that's how you start a PPV/Network show thread

I do not know anything about this Andrade dude.

Cliffs on him?

Since there is another takeover next month already, I think Aries is going to cheat and beat Nak. Get that ultimate heat.

Aries
Alpha
Asuka
Andrade
Joe

I'm not the best person to ask because I don't watch Mexican wrestling too much but he was a huge star there. Wrestled under the name La Sombra.

Seen a couple matches, very polished in ring work. Good high flyer, has a great overall work rate. He's also very young, 25 I believe.

WWE thinks he can be huge and went and signed him to be the eventual Latino face of the company.

I also think he will wrestle unmasked in WWE, whereas he had a mask in Mexico/Japan.

All I know is The Perfect 10 better win or I'm blaming the TS.

He gonna be counting them lights.

Gotta make way for the Mexican sensation.

Like he made way for the Japanese sensation.

I'm expecting 2-3 hours of Nakamura dancing, anything else is a massive failure.

Some good calls in here. Actually making me hope I'm wrong about one or two of mine.

And everyone picking Joe means Balor wins lol

But yeah ... they're gonna keep the Demon looking strong, even if he loses. Interference ... I'm really not sure about that. NXT loves its clean finishes, and it loves long title reigns. Yet they're positioning Balor to be a big player on the main roster (I mean, at worst he'll have a similar role to Styles). YET they do delineate NXT / main roster enough I don't think it'll hurt them to have the Demon Balor lose tonight. And it sets up a main roster feud of Joe vs Balor like how WWE has basically co-opted Zayn / KO's endless indy feud across a thousand feds, into an NXT-based WWE feud.

Just so many variables. Who they're calling up for the draft, who they've signed to make surprise appearances tonight, etc, etc ...

We gettin' close, boys.

Guess who else is backstage ?

I mean, I'm assuming this guy is, but this is not the actual spoiler.

For reals. Last warning:

BOBBY ROODE

So I just realized they're gonna have to try to outdo MITB. And I think they can.

5 matches for 2 hours ... I guarantee we have at least 2 matches tonight that are in contention for match of the year.

What the hell the damn thing starts an hour earlier than I thought. That goddamn poster says 9 but I guess it actually starts at 8. Goddammit. Gotta hustle now to get some food.

Renee Young lookin' so foine tonight. Lita not lookin' bad herself.

I want to talk about NXT in the PWD. I don't like change!
