NXT TAKEOVER PBP DISCUSSION

Naitch's entrance getting a massive pop

I was watching the UFC to see the finish of the fight and next thing I know Aries is on the outside, I thought he must've done the Flair turnbuckle spot to the outside and that's why they popped with the "woo" chants.

The winner of Joe/ Nakamura would stomp the winner of Diaz/ McNugget, i m o.

Bayley vs Aska was sloppy as hell. C at best.

Nakamura vs. Joe was disappointing. Very little chemistry. Overall, one of the weakest takeovers ever.

Just got finished with the show. I'm kind of left with the impression that this show had too much hype going in for them to ever live up to expectations. It's not that most of it was bad by any means...in most cases it was good...it just wasn't the Earth shattering awesome everyone was expecting. On to the matches.

No Way Jose vs Austin Aries:

This is the best Aries has looked in a long time. Fun match...kind of surprised Aries won...but maybe that's why he was on for this show since he knew he was finally going over in a big match. The start of the next feud with Itami looks fun...and will someone please tell Itami to never wear those shoes again...modern hip fashion is terrible.

Ember Moon vs Billy Kay:

So we lead up to this match with a bunch of moon promos about mysticism and prophecies...and then she debuts...and she's a generic smiley babyface who does gymnastics...whoop de friggin do! She's Apollo Crews with a bad weave and contacts. This absolutely sucked...although her finsher is nifty.

Bobby Roode vs Adrade "Cien" Almas:

Before this match I was of the opinion that Bobby Roode was overrated and over hyped for the simple fact he spent most of his career away from WWE and internet folks love to hype people on that career trajectory. After this match...my opinion has not changed. Roode is mediocre at everything and only gets love because of indies and being Canadian. He's nothing special, and entering the arena on a bucket lift with a sheet on it isn't glorious. Cien looked good however, it's a shame he was the one picked to put over Roode's over paid ass.

The Revival vs DIY:

Holy fucking shit balls! This was fucking phenomenal and if you say otherwise you should go play in traffic with Bubba! By far the best match on the card and one of the best tag team matches in a WWE ring in God only knows how long! These guys tore the house down! This was the Midnights and The R&R Express in their primes level good! Words don't do it justice. If you didn't like this match, there's seriously something wrong with you! I can't say enough good things about it. I was expecting Gargano to take the fall and them to work the CWC storyline into it...maybe they still will...but I don't even care because this match was awesome!

Asuka vs Bayley 2:

Something was off here. They didn't seem to click as much as they did in Dallas. It wasn't bad...and was still better than anything you get from the Divas on Raw and Smackdown...but it wasn't as good as their first match. It's a shame that with all the talk still about the women's revolution that the two best workers by far are still in developmental. Now...I still think Asuka is the best worker...but God damn it why in the blue hell is Bayley not on the main roster? The amount of Babyface sympathy this girls generates in absolutely unreal. She puts Ricky Morton in his prime to shame! When she hugged the crying little girl decked out head to toe in Bayley gear...damn it I teared up watching and am not ashamed to admit it! This girl is special. She could be the first real women's superstar in this business. Put her on Raw or Smackdown already damn it!

Samoa Joe vs Shinsuke Nakamura:

They hyped this one too much. It was a good match...but they just couldn't live up to the hype. Maybe because the outcome was too well known, so the drama wasn't there...but it wasn't the extra level awesome I think everyone wanted. Still a good match though, and I'm sure they'll go one more round. Hopefully a rematch rights the ship. All said though...I still liked the match.
