Is there a difference between "whats healthy for you" and sports nutrition? Are supplements even good for your health? These questions seem a bit simplistic but I kind of forgot that this is a dieting/supplement board on an MMA website. Cause to me it seems like people like Michael Pollan advocate different things than John Berardi. Thoughts?
Sports nutrition is a slight superset of normal nutrition. The only difference is stuff like steroids and other fringe supplements. This is because a healthy non-competitor has the body of a competitor and goes through the same motions as a competitior... they just don't compete and train to such extremes. We're all human and we all need the same whole foods to be most healthy. The healthy non-competitor does weekly exercises involving running, jumping, pushing, pulling... just like a sports competitor.
