NSAC says Conor 1st $1mil purse??? (via ESPN)

Damn, did Anderson Silva money just become obsolete? All we are is dust in the wind.

It's crazy that people who have been here for years still don't understand disclosed pay.

Disclosed pay is pocket change, something to pay your training partners with. The real peoples' champs get PPV points.

Most of the idiots on this forum can't even spell Conor's name properly. How the fuck do you expect them to understand anything related finances?

It's Sherdog... There's a thread on the front page where this guy thinks McGregor gain 23 lbs of muscle since the Aldo fight.

Looking back at UFC 100, Brock Lesnar had a disclosed pay of $400,000 with no win bonus and GSP had a disclosed pay of $400,000 ($200,000 win bonus).

Disclosed pay is an agreed amount between the UFC and the fighter, it's given to the State Commission to be held in escrow until after the bout to ensure the fighter gets paid. It was set up to keep dodgy boxing promoters from skipping town without paying.

Their fines get taken out of their disclosed pay, too.

Disclosed pay doesn't mean shit. After Tito Ortiz's third fight with Shamrock, his base contracted pay was $1 million per fight. If you look up his disclosed pay from the AC it was listed as about $400k.

Disclosed pay is probably accurate for the rookies and the new guys who are on $10k/$10k or whatever that rate is however. I'm not suggesting they're getting paid a fortune.

Weird that people who have no idea how it works seem to be the ones that want to discuss it most.

well the duffle bag of cash myth doesn't make any sense. zuffa is audited, issue debt. no way an auditor doesn't come in and say your cash balance doesn't reconcile where did it go? where's the invoice and dana responds i gave to a fighter to not take a fight to the ground.

also, understanding finance more than sherdog would understand it benefits the fighter to get a locker room bonus tax free. it in no way helps zuffa.
the more expenses they have the lower their net income and lower their tax bill.
if they gave some fighter 100K off the books they lose the write off of the expense and pay tax as if it was net income.
so not only are they giving away cash they are paying tax on it as if they still have it.

never made much sense to me how on one hand sherdog says dana doesn't care about the fighters but on the other hand believe he pays them off the books in cash at the expense of zuffa.....

And I'd bet my life, that person is under 16.

They aren't paid off the books. Conor makes his money on the back end from ppv buys. The UFC just doesn't report it to the media

UFC doesn't have to disclose all the pay just like a regular business. Usually the so called locker room bonuses are not only on the books they are given to fighters with the taxes already paid.
