Holy shit.

Two 10-8 rounds for Romero.
No other way to call it.
As best they could call it a draw.

Can't have the champ lose to a guy who is moving to LHW.
Makes Robert and the UFC look bad. What a joke of a decision.

If those were 10-8 rounds then the first 2 rounds were also 10-8 rounds. This isn't boxing. A knock down is not a point. Robert Whittaker was putting up a reasonable fight in every round. He was never dominated for the majority of the rounds, he just got hurt.

You can't take a point every time someone is dropped or hurt. A 10-8 has to be more dominant than that. Whittaker was clearly dominating Yoel for the first 2 rounds. Did you see Yoels eye??

10-8 has to be complete domination. Round 5 was, but not round 4.

It was an incredibly close fight, not a robbery.

It's not the knockdowns.
It's damn near finishing the fight.
Damage, impact and duration.

At no time did Whititaker have have Romero in a position where the fight could have been stopped. At no time did we see Romero hurt and turtling up.

Cool story though.

OK, but that's not how 10-8 rounds are scored. It doesn't and never has mattered how close a fight is to being stopped. So get that out of your head.

Did you see Yoels eye? Clearly it was badly damaged by Whittaker. Whittaker was dominant in the first 2 rounds from start to finish. He clearly had an impact on Yoels face.

So why aren't they 10-8 rounds? Yoel just turtled up the entire first round why Whittaker beat the crap out of him.
