Ian recently married a 40year old Brazilian cougar and changed his last name to become a Brazilian himself. Its only natural to assume that Ians mma skills will dramatically improve, especially the Brazilian Jujitsu.

I think the guy has finally found the final piece he was missing. Cant wait until he challenges for the belt!

Weird.
Taking your wives last name is a nice idea since he’s essentially becoming part of her family (I’m assuming that she’s reciprocating.)
That said, would never do it. Too much stupid baggage and people play too many “power dynamic” BS and silliness.
1,000,000:1 that even if the dude ends up a world champion wrecking machine, he’ll still get labeled a “cuck… soy boy… whipped;” or whatever insecure incels call people these days.

Not everybody with the last name of Machado is of Portuguese origin. It is also evident in Hispanic surnames.

Garry is a good fighter but still has to sharpen his skills. Well rounded , great cardio, great speed, good power, an great size for his division. Once he sharpens his skills a little he will be a top 5 contender at least in his division............. yeah will still be a cuck soy boy for taking Wife's last name no matter how hot she is... beta move<{ByeHomer}>

A great friend/mentor of mine combined his last name with his wife’s. For me I wasn’t going to change my name. I didn’t expect my wife to change hers either. She ended up adding mine to the end of hers. I thought it was a nice gesture since I was straight up not willing to change mine.

Yeah, my GF and I still haven't decided how we're going to handle the whole surname thing when we get hitched. I made it clear that I have no expectation of her taking my last name. I don't really want her last name (and frankly she doesn't either). Attaching both with a hyphen would be a bit of a mouthful, so she brought up the idea of making a new surname as some couples do. It's a neat idea, but I'm not sold on it yet.

In any case, I don't think Garry should get any heat over this. If everyone's heart is in the right place I think it's a nice sentiment and shows commitment.

She was a presenter for BT sport, I still think she does a lot of MMA coverage. There's some thing about her overt gestures on social media, like getting an Ian Garry tattoo between her boobs and posing and stuff that feels like she's trying to ride on to his coat tails to get a come up. i may be completely wrong but thats how it feels to me

Good performance but needs to improve his striking defence.

I just want to know if he's going to start talking like Makenzie Dern now.

It would be funny if Machado was from her ex and not her maiden which is Lee?

He could definitely use an affair with a really powerful wrestler, that would be a great way to round out his skillset.

It's good that he's acquired world class BJJ and Muay Thai though.

He's got a future, this lad.
