I really wanted Frankie to win but no dice, he is not ready for a title shot. Stephens has looked good in his lasts fights and is the hardest hitting FW and probably LW as well. I think Stephens has improved so much since a few years ago this fight could go 50/50.

Edit: i see some of you are bringing up Ortega, I dont feel Ortega deserves it now, he is still young and needs at least 1 or 2 more wins to gain that experience before fighting for the title.

Ortega clearly deserves the shot first, Stephens can get in line.
 
Maybe Jeremy Stephens vs Aldo... Never thought I would say that but if either one wins you could argue they deserve a title shot.

The argument is easier with Jeremy winning but if Aldo won, Ortega would need to have the belt.
 
Hey what’s up, Jeremy. Do you think you’ve improved enough to beat holloway this time? I’d rather see you fight aldo.

Aldo would need 2 very decisive, amazing victories to get another TS this fast imo.

In all honesty, I'd like to see Stephens take on a high ranked opponent but, none of them are coming off of a win besides TCity. and he should get next shot at Max.

Really think him vs Aldo is a fine fight to make, if Aldo wins though, he'd need to perhaps take on and finish the loser of TCity/Max. Or beat Frankie for a 4th time lol. It's a clusterfuck at the top of that division to be honest.

If I were the TS then I would say FTFY

But I am not the TS so I say Ortega vs Holloway next and Stephens gets the next shot is he kills the TS in a "To The Death" match in the Octagon.
 
We already saw Stephens vs Holloway.

Plus Stephens isn't getting a title shot off a win over Emmett, that guy was only a thing because he killed Lamas.
