Not bad for Lyoto

hopefully

yeah real great "ambassador of the sport" who was a steroids cheating lowlife you fucking idiot.
Member since today. Yeah that checks out lol Machida was taking a supplement that was permissible until the latest USADA ruleset and he admitted that he had been taking it as soon as he heard it was prohibited. You should do your research before you just say dumb shit you dork. It’s an over the counter and there’s absolutely no evidence it’s a performance enhancer nor was he taking it as such. He’s always been a desciplined athlete who trained hard had great cardio and spent a large portion of his career fighting bigger stronger guys. Nothing about his physique or his performance is indicative of him being a gear head and there were plenty in the division.

My guy ( GM) is the last of the mohican s on all these levels. He was an elite in yesteryear and remains an elite as we approach 2022. The only fighter to have 2 primes- almost 19 years of fighting and just turned 36. We'll never see anything like it again. Sites like matrix ( fight) have him on pound for pound rankings. I dont know how long he can keep this up as a career clean fighter. Hopefully itll be later and not sooner. Just healed his third ACL tear.

* didnt mean to hijack lyoto s piece - one of my faves as well but people start mentioning maia and guys like that , I couldnt help myself.

The last of the classy sportsmanlike fighters
Hopefully there will always be a few around. At least we have Machida still, Rory, and guys like Beneil Dariush in today's MMA scene. Its rough in a time when shit talking gets you rewarded. Rough for fans too when so many guys are bad at it. Even Conor is off his game these days...

Im pretty sure Demian Maia still exists. There will always be these types.

Thee are definitely more, but they just don't stick out that much because of that very virtue.

Favourite fighter ever, he single-handedly got me into mma. Then saw fedor and he sealed the deal. Then started watching cro cop and there was no going back.

Still my favourite fighters along with anderson.

Machida deserves nothing but riches. One of my favorite fighters ever.

One of the best to do it, and also the classiest. He didn't need to bash other fighters or their families/beliefs etc to make it happen.

Tito won!

Seriously tho, Machida is the defenition of hespec and a true martial artist.

"Machida Era" is a meme, but what it really was was a demonstration of traditional karate working in a real fight. Shotokan wasn't taken seriously before he showed his family's variation of it. Now it is.

So Lyoto should reap the benefits. Also a "no extra punch" guy, that he stopped when the contest was over. It's a big plus for sportsmanship in the caveman-like competition.
