Nootropics & BJJ

I've heard the electronic screen thing has more to do with light spectrum than anything else. My friend was telling me about an app for phone or computer that dials down the yellow light and ups the blue light after a certain time of day, to help your brain transition to sleep more efficiently. I'll ask him for the name of the app.

Thanks for sharing. I'm usually on my laptop in bed prior to sleeping.Sounds like a bad habit. :icon_conf

And no electronics an hour before bedtime. Screens will screw up your sleep for real.

I think it got more to be with the erratic nature of doing electronics till sleep.

My best solution is an strict regime of waking up, i wake up at the same time everyday, no snooze or rest day whatsoever. If there isnt going to be training in the morning (i train at 6:00am, wake up at 5:00am) ill just go for a walk, browse the computer or play videogames till its time to get ready for work.

I think its similar to training, missing one day is hard and you feel guilty, but missing 2 feels less and 3 even less etc etc.

Being happily married and making love with your wife helps inmensely too as a mid week boost in sleep, but i guess its not for everyone.

I take Modafinil and train Jiu Jitsu. I think it personally is a wonder supplement to take alongside training. However due to work schedule and modafinil having a 15 hour half life, I rarely take it for training being that I train in the evenings.

And yes, modafinil is appetite suppressant but it isn't going to make you anorexic.

not to nitpick but appetite suppression is anorexia by definition, not to be confused with anorexia nervosa the eating disorder. I am not convinced it also wouldn't pose a potential hit to your cardio, messing with neurotransmitters and state-dependent learning are concerns too.

Overall, it will help you in some ways be could hurt in some ways too. No such thing as a shortcut.

Yeah, i just dim the television and turn the light low. I sleep like a fetal, injured kitten anyway, not much light breaking through my lids in my ball of pillows and blankets
