No logical argument for Headbutts to be illegal

Headbutting is an effective means of damaging your opponent.

Some would argue it's a matter of trauma. In a sport where you can punch, elbow, knee, and kick your opponent in the head why wouldn't headbutts also be legal? Certainly a headbutt is not more traumatic then a high kick or knee to the chin.

Some would argue that headbutts cause cuts to which i would respond so what? Cuts are a real part of fighting and elbows do the same thing.

Can we all be honest and admit the only reason headbutts are illegal is because of image? What legalizing headbutts would do is increase the action on the fence and the action on the ground.

Agreed. People whine about the rules being in favor of wrestlers but those people are idiots. Headbutts aren't allowed, nor are knees to the head on the ground. With those allowed, we would see alot more finishes from so called "LnP" wrestlers.

We're talking about striking opponents in areas that are already legal to strike by other means. Let's not confuse the two.

If you want to start seeing fights end by "unanimous cuts" or "T cut O" then, yeah, they should be legal.

Headbutts also don't just cut the person receiving them, but also the person administering them. You would see more than one fight end because both fighters have vaginal gashes above their eyebrows. That is the reason they are illegal.

I agree, and it would certainly make every clinch, in the open or up against the cage, potentially more exciting.

It could result in a lot more cut stoppages though.

the main reason is I doubt it would be taken seriously as a combat sport if headbutts were legal. most of the viewing public would view that as barbaric

I'm all for opening up the rules more (soccer kicks, 12-6 elbows, and knees to a downed opponent) but the problem with headbutts is they cause a lot of cuts/bleeding which in turn could stop fights prematurely.

which is why we shouldnt be helping them by changing rules to favour them, they instead should be trying to improve their skillset so that they arent just LnP wrestlers anymore

Head butts can actually hurt the person delivering the blow as much as the person receiving the blow. A certain part of the skull gets fucked up in that area. Would end your fighting career.

Agree with all except headbutts, too much brain damaja unless you talking about using your head to strike other parts of the body.

Kicks to downed opponents and soccer kicks should be legal. There is no standing 8 count so if you can't get your ass up from getting kicked then you get a tko.

12-6 Elbows should be legal, why are they illegal again? Bringing them straight down?

Never under stood why cage holding is even a thing, like who grabs a cage when they are fighting.

If you have a proper mount you should be in perfect range for headbutts.

Anyway headbutts would be lame. It would just end up with everyone grabbing each others arms and going balls to the walls with their heads against the cage and on the ground
