Social No Kings national protest 10/18 - the end of Trump and MAGA?

I found a human somewhere under your internet bullshit.

So let's get the government working for the people, as intended -- or bring back the guillotine ;)

... but the point of this thread was the KINGS protest -- which, sadly -- accomplished nothing to help with any struggles from both our cases. It's almost like they want us fighting each other or something.... weird...
Oh, stop. My mother would clean the house with us both.

The series of calamaties were just so brilliant. Flippin adore that movie.
Cameron Diaz with rubber gloves at the end losing her shit is fucking epic.
Sorry to drop a music one...but fuck them....don't ever stop fucking with them

@ShadowRun is having a full on meltdown in this thread. The big bad protest won’t hurt you, don’t worry little guy.

this protest is so pathetic.

here we have the richest people on the planet, that dominate internet debate by bitching about everything everywhere, but are incapable of organizing anything remotely serious and end up organizing the equivalent of a Sunday day at the fair.
take the people out protesting and average their wealth and they'd be the richest group alive now on the planet, compared to any other country.

Fat, well fed people in a system that protects them from 99,99% of the dangers people from other countries face every day, decided to have a Sunday picnic and dress up in funny costumes because irony is the only thing they know. banged a few drums and sang some songs with their all-white 60+ reading group that reads burundian lesbian pottery poetry and talk about "the struggle". And on their way home stopped at starbucks, paid 20 dollars for a cookie, posted how they "resisted" for their social bubble. hundreds of thousands of main character syndrome people. what a fucking joke.

in the end it's an identity thing - "i wanna project an image of someone against billionaires, against the system (but no that much, cause the system is mostly nice, so its anti-system with the caveat that it's actually against a handful of people in the system), anti-racist (cause it's the good thing to be), while deep down fully understanding i live better than most people on the planet and i don't REALLY want to rock the boat too much. "

There is NO protest that works in the western world. it's easier to bring down governments in a tyranny than in a western democracy. it's easier to INFLUENCE governments in tyrannies than it is in western democracies. in reality, in western democracy the power is so diffuse that you end up "governing", win the election, and spend your time there realizing basically everybody in the vast, colossal bureaucracy can stop you, delay you, make you fight for every little thing, until your time is over and you didn't do much cause it's almost impossible to meaningfully change things. BY DESIGN.

this is also funny cause this is how i know the real leftists and the communists are nowhere near any form of power in America - communists are actually good at organizing. shit at governing but that's another matter. the current left in america is billionaire-hijacked just as much as the right, and the only "protests" that are allowed (and thoroughly funded) are decided by the wealth class.

a dark and awful satire.

We rate PPV's, why not rate protests?

Concept clarity: 2/10

Historical awareness: 2/10

Symbolic coherence: 3/10

Irony level: 9/10

Scorecard Breakdown:
  • America already had a “No Kings” revolution, so we'll start with 1776 -- Although with our failing education system, I wouldn't doubt that there are LITERALLY people now who do not know this -- Immediate....
  • Shit name/phrase choice : "NO KINGS" -- itsucks. -- Period lol --- People couldn’t tell if it meant anti Trump or anti elite..... or cosplay patriotism? This thread is literally proof of no narrative other than some duct taped "ideas" -- showing up, and then abandoning the place. People were dressed up and had signs, well, that's just a living breathing in-person meme....
  • Which leads to the 'protest' itself -- It got meme'd harder than it did anything else? Not exactly the response you'd like. I guess with 2025 being 2025, you get the meme response because people have nothing better to do on both sides?
  • The effect? CRINGE + IRONY -- impact of almost NOTHING. Maybe a good "idea", but poor branding and marketing? You have billionaires and entire political groups sponsoring/endorsing an event -- and got some mainstream media choppers to fly over staged formations.....
  • ...That was the best they could do with the funding and planning? Holy fuckin balls man.... Consider it not impressive.
  • Neither side looks good on this. The people protesting are in theory, Americans (lets not speculate lol) -- so calling it anti-american is wrong, because it's their right to protest, but then having the protest completely... ALLOWED.... isn't something a king would even let happen.... so wow -- good job BOTH sides on trying to just divide we the people with nothing productive to show.
  • It's a complete shit show from "we the people" -- and with common ground of ANY kind just getting torn further apart to the point of this comical shit, I think it would have served a better purpose to take the people from these protests and invest the time with more productive means.... be it helping locally with food drives, clothing, or fundraising with a goal. The end narrative of the "event" didn't produce much more than a midget queef in the wind.... for shit people were already at wits end about.... so.... kinda irrelevant?

Fair score / breakdown? High Irony / Low Impact levels of effective?

Honestly only protest that i personally know of that was succesful in my lifetime was maidan ukraine 2014

And thats pushing definition of protest since it was mass melee combat against police to overthrow goverment

It doesn't matter that billionaires were behind these "no kings" protests, they are going to fund our kings next election

Well i did say western world. ukraine back then was eastern euro third world. still is, but used to be as well. and that was as far from a natural, homegrown movement as it gets. cia and the brits and everybody's mother was there.

Interesting how many grown men here disapprove of this peaceful demonstration. Even though the protestors oppose the same things as you (crime, corruption, cruelty) and want the same things as you (freedom, health, happiness). I would’ve thought more of you would support this.
