i was 12 years old and had just gotten into learning the guitar a couple years earlier when and directly because of Nevermind's release
Cobain's death was the 1st time I was personally saddened by the death of someone i never knew personally
i wouldnt be the same person, have the same friends, be in my current position if I had never discovered Nirvana
side note, for some reason, Alice In Chains fans have this complex where they always try to trump Nirvana as a 90's band........most Nirvana fans dont give much of a shit about AIC in the first place...but AIC fans always have to make it known how much "better" AIC is than Nirvana
