Inspired by rookie cornerback Xavier Watts of the Falcons.

Night Train Lane

At three months old his hooker mom and her pimp had had enought of baby Dick Lane so they tossed him in a dumpster, his crying was heard by a passer by.

He grew up in Texas, joined the military and played some Negro League baseball. One day while in LA he passed the Rams facility, and the rest is history.

As a rookie cornerback he intercepted 14 passes in a 12 game season, in his first 35 NFL games he had 27 INTS. Yep, still records today and we are talking the 50's there.

The guy had a thing about this tune....

When he retired he was only behind the great Emlen Tunnell in INT;s, today he is 4th all time with 68.

Played one season of football at some JC.

Obviously a Hall of Famer.

The Steelers were the worst team in the NFL way back when pre 70's, but they did have John Henry Johnson (former Niner) a fullback who was known for his wicked forearm shiver, story goes he broke at least a dozen face masks with it, yep.....hmmmmm BS?

He was like Night Tran a very bad man, I can remember seeing him unload a few times on wanna be tacklers, he was a monster to tackle. Yep......Hall of Famer.

It was Jim Brown, Jim Taylor and John Henry Johnson all fullbacks. Seeing Brown and John Henry in the same backfield in the pro bowl, ouch~~~~~~~~~~

When talking these old timers we do need to compare them vs others in their era and not vs todays players.

I do have,,,,

Night Train and Deion as my corners
Jim Brown is my fullback
Don Hutson my WR
Lawrence Taylor one of my LBers
Barry Sanders at RB

If talking an all time team.

Just think Bullet Bob Hayes from the 60's has always been the fastest NFLer. A 10.06 on a dirt track the best time.
