Nicklas B

And he wanted to fight Conor?! What a clown, so dissappointed.

Damn that was a big shot that dropped him

Glad he got pulverized and humiliated. He's a pretty unlikeable character.

What the hell....he got pulverized lol.

Great KO

Ah yeah so huge. He wasnt even planted. Most of your power comes from the posterior change and connection to the floor. Second he wasnt even halfway through his range of motion. Most of the kinetic energy wasnt there yet.

Try it. feel the difference between throwing a punch properly and off of one foot. Feel the difference between a punch thrown at near full extension copmpared to when it is around parallel with oyur head. HUGE difference in power.

I had a feeling the smaller and compact dude was going to win... He's got powah.

Don't be that guy. He was understandably upset because he was careless and underestimated his opponent.
He probably has a decent enough chin, anyone can get knocked out when they are moving forward and don't expect the punch.

He shouldn't have been "that guy." Also, traditionally, fighters with poor chins end up having less-than-stellar careers in combat sports. Getting knocked out cold like that alters the trajectory of one's career and physical abilities.

So disappointed but I still believe he'll have a good future.

Point is that that knockout is hardly evidence for a bad chin. It was a hard, unexpected, blow when Niclas was moving forward, and right on the button. And bouncing the back of his head off of the floor didn't help.
Plenty of fighters that have had good careers after getting ktfo:d. It doesn't help, and you can't take too many of them, that much we agree on however.

Just out of curiosity, who are these fighters that have done well after getting knocked out cold like Niklas did yesterday? Sincerely asking (keep in mind I have already accepted that a fighter could have a career after such an event, just - probably - not a stellar one).

IIRC, Arlovski was KOed by Datsyk in his first fight. Became the UFC champ and is considered a contender today in 2014. Might not fit your definition of stellar, but he has done pretty well for a guy who got KOed by a lunatic with poor fighting skills in his inaugural match.

Also, Wanderlei brutally KOed Rampage and the latter went on to win the UFC championship, defend it, and never get KOed again despite fighting heavy hitters. He just wasn`t fighting smart in those Wand fights. Obviously he had and still has a very good chin.

Always nice to see a cocky fighter get KTFO, especially if he's hyped by Sherdog. Hands up Backstrom :icon_lol:

Huh, I could have sworn Arlovski, Rampage, Wanderlei and GSP all ended up having decent careers. Here's a protip for making an argument in the future - if the position that you're trying to advance can't be supported by proof, you're fighting a losing battle. It's impossible to establish that a fighter would have had an excellent career but-for being brutally KO'd at some point. On the other hand, the opposite is easily provable.

GSP was never knocked out cold and neither was Wanderlei before his career went anywhere (he was TKOd by Belfort, but was not out cold like Niklas was; take a look at his career trajectory after he did go out cold, though).

In addition, I said "traditionally" and you appear to have demonstrated my point. Out of all of the fighters in recorded history that were knocked out cold in a contest, you are only able to name two that had somewhat of a decent career thereafter.

Pro-tip, be cognizant of the argument being made before attempting to deconstruct it. On another note, it is hardly "impossible" to establish such a trend. For example, one could note a fighter's respective trajectory and fighting capacity, and if that fighter experiences an "out-cold-event" you could then monitor their activities thereafter and make further predictions and analyses.
