"This is how I think about it. It’s my second UFC fight, and I’m the co-main event. I’m fighting all these top prospects with either zero losses or one loss. I’m like, why am I fighting all these hard-ass guys? No one else is doing that. I’m the only one that’s doing this. I feel like the UFC is feeding me to the wolves."

Facts: Both his opponents in the UFC had a loss and pretty recently too. Brundage was 6-1 vs Maximov who was 6-0. And then Soriano at 8-1 vs Maximov with 7-0. He has not been matched up with anyone undefeated, HIS opponents however have been, against himself. <Lmaoo>

Unfortunatley he doesn't stop there. Here comes the remainder of this train of thoughts:

"Khamzat fights all these little ass guys but I'd like to fight him, you know, next. He's trying to call out Nate, but fight me then. We're in the same boat. Why are people scared, you know what I'm saying? He hasn’t shown anything to be scared about because he hasn’t fought any wrestlers. Saying he's "a wrestler" who hasn’t fought any wrestlers, so I’m like what the fuck? Fight me then!"

“He’s only fought MMA fighters, I’m a martial artist who can wrestle.”

And this comes literally seconds after complaining about fighting "top prospects" and "only hard-ass guys". The UFC are unfair to him giving him so many tough tests. But Khamzat on the other hand has only fought MMA fighters, so apparently not the same thing. What a truly bizarre interview.

UFC giving him tough tests... the 2 guys he's fought each have less than 8 fights. What am I missing here?

This post reads like the who's who of whoville. Literally don't know any of those names other than Chimaev.
Irrelevant, moving on.

Its true - Khamzat hasnt fought any wrestlers. The guys hes fought were undefeated or had 1 loss before they got the Maximov Stamp. I dont know what you find so bizarre

Talks like a Diaz and complains like one too. He’s not wrong however.

Even his body movements and language resembles Nates.

Maximov said nothing wrong. Both guys he faced were either undefeated or had one loss.

Some people in here obviously missed the point. Taken individually most of what he says is true, but taken as a whole it's contradictory and just weird.
"The sun only comes up once a day, so I don't have GI Joes in my lasagna."

1. He had the better record in both of his last fights which means his opponents are getting what he says nobody else but him is getting.

2. Then he calls out an even tougher test than the ones he is complaining about

3. Says Chimaev is fighting "all these little ass guys" while he himself is calling out a fighter a weight class lower than him. (Yes, Chimaev is taller but Nate Diaz is taller than DC, too)

4. Says that he is a "martial artist who can wrestle", while Chimaev is only fighting MMA fighters...Ya don't say.

eh. He was originally supposed to fight Karl Roberson for his debut UFC fight. He stepped in on short notice and moved up to HW for his fight on DWCS

I think the context is that Khamzat is a former middleweight and plainly enormous for 170lbs. He last competed in wrestling at 92kg.

If you are not aware, he fought 2 of his 4 UFC bouts at middleweight so far. Maximov is saying its pretty weird a guy that size fought at welterweight, let alone calling out a career lightweight in Nate.

Pretty much all non-controversial stuff.

If Maximov got a middling UFC vet on the down slope who had name recognition but recent skid, that would be favorable. Instead he got two young prospects who have no name value but are tough guys. Nothing wrong with being booked that way, nothing wrong with talking about it in an interview either.

We know from court records these guys are getting paid peanuts. Everyone is trying to make a living, so when TMZ knows who you are and wants sound bytes, you need to say something.

Nothing to see here.
