Media Nick Diaz kidnapped?

It's well established that Baroni was in really bad psychological shape at the time. There were multiple people saying he was out of it and not making a lot of sense. I don't think there is any question he had some serious CTE. His family was paying for him to stay locked up in a better lock up facility in Mexico last I heard, but that was a while back.

The Baroni story is a devastatingly sad story....

And I can't help but wonder how many similar stories we will just never hear about.

Baroni was just BARELY famous enough that his incident popped up on the algorithms.

How many "not as famous as Phil Baroni" but with every bit as much brain damage, give or take a little childhood trauma and or drug addiction/abuse/damage times the Square root of total concussions in fights and gym wars and bar fights and contact sports, etc... cases are there in the world which we will never hear about their downfall.

Fight finder and Wikipedia are chock fucking full of guys with loads of KOs.

For every 10-1 guy in the UFC with 7 KO wins, there are no name guys balancing out the loss column. For every KO win someone has a KO loss and every undefeated run has got a pile of victims... they are out there.

Guys who tried MMA, didn't have the God given Max Holloway chin, and got KOed a dozen times in the gym and maybe a few more in ammies or regional shows.

I'm sure there are THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of them .

They aren't stars.

They are on welfare somewhere or homeless like Junie Browning, or in jail like Phil Baroni. Maybe the baddest dude in their cell block.

And who the fuck knows what havoc they have reeked on this world that just wasn't quite news worthy enough to make its way to the surface and creep into public conversation?

It's a fucked up thought that haunts me sometimes.

Here is a sentence I didn't expect to say when I woke up this morning...

Uh..

Doesnt the subject being drugged, kidnapped and detained against his will, somewhat imply that that he is not in fact fully consenting to this scenario?
Nate and Nick are two different people.

I'll wait for more information... but should this prove to be true it is pretty dumb and misguided.

You can lead a horse to water ... but
Maybe don't drag a horse to Mexico and lock it in an institution to force it to drink water if it never actually wanted to drink water in the first place. That's a bit much

sometimes it works, at some point Nick'll be sober for days, weeks or even months and with a clear mind he can think and make decisions.

in my country we don't have those "some weeks program" rehabs, we have "communities" where people are trained again to live their lives without substances, teaching them self discipline and responsability (and even teaching them works) which is the hardest part, and it doesn't take some weeks but actually years.

Couldn’t have happened to a better person.

The Diaz brothers weren't smart to begin with.
Got no education.
Got punched for 20 years
Smoked and drank for 20 years, probably combined with a lot of painkillers
And were used as personal punching bags for Andre Ward.
Ward probably took 10 IQ points of each of them

Still they got close to their max potential and overachieved massively.

thats a fucked up thing to say considering he is on top because Nick is down in the gutter.

Nates on top bc of his own efforts. Beating Conor put him over massively. Way before Nick went down to the gutter.

The Ransom of Red Chief.......

Rehab facility? sounds like he might need a secure psychiatric facility to be honest.

Either way good job cousin despite the battery/assault methodology!

He wants to go to rehab in California because it's close to home and his friends, where he would have access to his drug connections.

Probably the best thing for him is to to stay far away from his usual surroundings and all the shitty people he's been surrounding himself with for the last few years

Lol wtf is this. Keep his ass in rehab for 30 days and have him do out patient therapy for weeks after. He's going to use as soon as he leaves the rehab in Mexico. He is going through withdrawals I don't think the leeches know what's best for him.

Ridiculous to move him from one rehab to another. He needs to detox and complete that program he is in.

I wish Nick the best of luck. This sounds like the bottom of the barrel, last ditch effort type of stuff.

Good, his "friends" clearly have no interest in helping him.

wtf is nate doing flying around in thailand when his brother needs help what a loser
His brother is getting help, thats why he is in rehab, its Nate supposed to pause his life and deny a nice paycheck for his family because his brother is a fucking Junkie?

I mean, we are only hearing the side of the story from the assholes that were getting high with him in Cali, who knows what part of that statement is actually true.
