Wait, so what if there are 2 thiefs instead of 1? can you call say the 2 thiefs are in jail now? Or those it have to be thieves? Seems like using the number 2 would suffice wouldnt it? Or am I doing it wrong still?
It has to be thieves, not thiefs.
"He is a thief."
"They are thieves."
As for thieve(without the S), it's not really used too often. Just think of it as a replacement for the word 'steal'.
"He loves to thieve from my stash."
"He loves to steal from my stash."
It's a bit confusing. I can understand why you got it mixed up. But hope I helped lol.
