HW is famine level thin right now in the UFC. With Ngannou in PFL and Jones retiring that’s 2 of the top 3 best in the world that Aspinall can’t fight. Aspinall has beaten everyone but Gane and Almeida. There are also no up and comers that have any level of serious buzz. Shit is in fucked up at HW and no plan to breathe any life into it. At least mending the issues with Ngannou brings the possibly greatest HW mma fighter back into the mix. I think that in the wake of losing Jones that is the only serious move the UFC should be looking at to breathe life back into a dead division.

The UFC HW curse continues to live on. Can't say I haven't seen this before. After all these years and multiple generations of fighters you would think Dana White would have learned to improve from these situations to get a better outcome. Dana is a legitimate one trick pony promoter. He always lacked the foresight to think beyond short-term money grabs.

That balance between perceived legitimacy and greed has been straight out the window for a very long time now.
