Ngannou vs Anthony Johnson

What people forget is that Ngannou has GOAT chin. Clean power shots by Stipe did not even rock him slightly. Sure Rumble is atomic, but I don't think he is that more powerful than Stipe is. So Francis in rd1.
 
Rumble is the way better striker (technically). But Ngannou hits harder. Both guys are very explosive, hard to say who'd have the edge. We haven't seen Ngannou get hit enough to really know just how good his chin is. Other than the Stipe fight (and the snoozefest with Lewis) his fights don't last long.

Rumble is probably faster, so maybe he'd have a slight edge because of that, but really it comes down to just how good Ngannou can take one of Rumble's shots, and also who hits who first. That's also assuming Rumble is still nearly as good as he was before.

No one has ever outstruck Rumble. If he gets tired and ends up on the ground, that's when he gets in trouble. That said, he'd need a few tune-up fights before facing Ngannou.

He could be the best LHW if he can make the cut. If he's anything like used to be, he should outstrike Reyes, Jiri, etc. and the Bellator guy who just beat Bader. LHW's best fighters right now are strikers and that works in his favor.
 
Ngannou is just too big, strong and powerful for Rumble. Rumble hits hard as fuck, but not on the level of Francis. He couldn't put Arlovski away in a HW fight. Francis would walk through his punches and clobber him with some 0 technique strikes like he did to Jair Rozenstruik.

Anthony was a merited wrestler. It's just that national level wrestling doesn't help you much against an olympian like Cormier.
 
This is the fight I want. Although Ngannou is way bigger. Also Rumble would probably just wrestle.
 
In Shape n hu hey Rumble beats Ngannou IMO but that Rumble is long gone
 
Rumble is a complete MMA fighter he has the grappling to give Frank problems. As long as he doesn't mentally quit he should be able to win the fight.

That, and avoiding big shots early.
 
Ngannou is an immensely powerful yet horribly sloppy striker. Provided he misses the button with his haymaker storm, i think rumble would light him up in an exchange

Rumble is a much better technician but Ngannou has probably higher fight IQ(which doesn't tell you much since Rumble is a Bimbo). So to me, these things might cancel each other out.

There's a reason why he's not returning to heavyweight. Fighters like Stipe, Blaydes, rozenstruik, and Ngannou would be a terrible matchup for him.

AJ has more skill than most HW lol. Francis has terrible striking defense and could be ko in exchange.
