So here comes this beast of a man, supposedly the ‘Next Big Thing’ and he’s knocking everyone out.
He is hyped as the greatest big man around...

Then he loses his first UFC fight (not even in devastating fashion) and he needs time off??

Come on Francis, man up and keep fighting.

Don’t get me wrong, everyone deserves time off and to be able to see their families.

But when you fight for a living and obviously need ‘cardio upgrades’ you’d think he would jump back on the horse as apposed to taking time off b/c he faced adversity.

I expect him to return to the top five

But I don't expect him to vastly improve. This isn't what you wanna see or hear out of a guy after his first big loss.

he needs to spend some 6 months in dagestan improving his wrestling

The guy took a fucking pounding. This isn't a bad idea at all. He needs to rest up, recover, and work on his grappling. The top of the HW division is shallow as hell. It's not like there's a shark tank of young contenders who are going to leapfrog him if he takes some time off.

Two weeks in Paris will do him good.

He hasn’t been there in weeks

If he was KOed I'd say it was a smart move but he wasn't. A fighter fighter with a winner's mentality would want to get back in there as soon as possible and take that loss back. Originally I thought he was a future champ for sure what with his relatively young age, now I'm not so sure, may just not have the right mentality for it

He needs new coaching, people that will make him work on his ground game and cardio.

I'm thinking he just wants to take some time to shore up his weaknesses. He obviously has a lot of work to do in the grappling/cardio area, and frankly, he probably feels like shit right about now. Fighter or not, failing that hard is going to take a bite out of anyone, and I'd rather see him back when he's made some improvements and has his head fully in the game. I'm not ready to write him off just yet.

He looked unbeatable entering the building, he looked completely gutted leaving the building.

Agreed, looked like African version of Ivan Drago during the walk in.

Then he looked similar to Monica Bellucci with Le Tenia on top of her during the rape scene in Irréversible.

Lol wasn't just a cardio issue, he lost the r1 aswell, it was more of a grappling disadvantage, and that sounds like a very smart decision by his part, take some time off and work at his wholes, he's the #1 HW outside the champ anyway, in some months he'll be back and better than ever.
