It is admirable because a lot of people wrote Ngannou off after his back to back losses to Stipe and Black Beast. He really looked like shit in both fights. So much so that he closed as an underdog in his 2nd fight with Blaydes.

So for him to get back on track and punch his way to a title shows a lot of resilience.

Most already forgot. For some reason they look at Gane's fight with Derrick Lewis and think Gane will smash Ngannou. Heck no, that's the worst stylistic matchup I've ever seen in favor of Gane. Gane already beat Volkov who is a way better indicator of where he's at than Lewis.

If Ngannou fights and KOs Lewis right now, people will suddenly switch and claim Ngannou will knock Gane's head off. Short term memory is like a a disease around here.
