Media Ngannou pay debate...

he gets paid by the saudi arabian government. it’s not tied to numbers he generates with his fights. in fact, they’ve lost a lot of money on him. hey, sweet deal for francis!

The UFC literally gets paid by the Saudi Arabian government.

And hundreds of millions over years from UAE.

That you don't see the irony in what you wrote lmao. In this case, the money is going to the fighter, instead of 85% to the promoter which is frankly morally repugnant.

Ngannou bet on himself and won, he understood the game. More should try and follow in his footsteps.

Happy he got paid, but his whole legacy is sort of a what if. Fans missed out on Ngannou Jones 2x, Aspinall, Pavlovich. Instead we got to watch him lose 2 boxing matches and fight Renan in MMA. Good for Ngannou, but shitty for fans. He took the easier route and made more, that's a smart career.
He cleaned the division before getting the belt and defended against a young undefeated up and comer.

Still can't understand why so many people in here were hoping for him to fail.

Dude took on the UFC and won. And now another once-in-a-generation fight doesn't happen, because the UFC's negotiation strategies.

With the way Dana White has acted toward fighters in regards to money and contracts I dont understand how anyone could debate this. Dana white had already turned on Franics when he dogged him in public after the Black Beast fight. It was after that that Francis wised up IMO - look out for you and never ever ever trust Dana White to have your best interest in mind in any way shape or form. And people will say he shouldnt, but thats just fucking weird. When your the person doing the thing that actually makes the money you should be the one getting paid. No the other way around.

I still think Francis and Lewis were both paid to throw that fight lol

They’ve lost money on F1, boxing (every fight like Fury/Usyk), soccer, UFC, etc.

They are sports-washing, not running a business to be profitable.

But you already know this, you just love to hate on Ngannou specifically for some reason that we can’t quite put our finger on…

It is all speculation since none of these numbers are real but it is safe to say Francis made good money and is hopefully happy with his choices.

But, even based on these hypothetical numbers, $8M +PPV in UFC is equal or more than $15M in boxing because boxers have to pay their promoter, cutman, sanctioning body, etc out of their purse that UFC fighters do not.

Ngannou got fucking paid, bro. And then he got knocked the fuck out. At age 38.

Ngannou definitely knew what was up. He was gonna be beat by either Aspinall or Jones

That's not true nobody knew who Tom was and not only that he just beat Gane, Dana was playing games and is a shit boss

Doesn't the UFC get paid by Saudi and the UAE?

Wasn't that literally what the sphere was?

He made more outside of the ufc plain and simple, the Fact Dana said it's not necessarily true and had to use scenarios to make his point make it further true that it's true.
Fuck Dana for saying you need specific scenarios to cover Saudi trillionaires tossing millions of dollars at boxing superstars to fight Francis for fun instead of their ranked competitors.

Cause that wasn’t equally completely unique and unusual scenarios too right?

Pay is heavily covered and discussed in ever other sport. Why should mma be any different?

Not to this extent, and absolutely not concentrated on one specific person. Just as other sports aren't absolutely fixated on fucking "GOATS".

MMA fans are weirdos.

Why the fuck would he stay with the UFC making peanuts with a cock suckin woman slapping boss in Dana, the bitch ass White? Made more in 1 fight of boxing than all of the ufc fights.

I've been all over this Francis pay stuff since he left the UFC. The conclusion I've drawn is that it's not so much about the pay per fight, as much as it is about winning vs losing. Francis made some big money in boxing, his pay vs Fury would be pretty much the same as Jones. And his pay in PFL from what it says, matches his UFC pay, but he would lose out on the PPV as PFL wont sell anything.

So all in all if you span 5 fights in each scenario, he would pretty much similar money. But that's assuming he kept on winning in the UFC.

But where I say it's about winning vs losing, is that if Francis lost in the UFC, his pay goes down quite a bit. In boxing and PFL, he's guranteed to make that even if he loses. He dropped a fight to Fury and got a even bigger pay day vs Joshua. And now he's got his PFL fights and again, he's got pay lined up for 2 fights.

He made the right move no doubt.
