NFL Running Back Getting Destroyed by Hector Lombard

These threads are stupid

Like how is this discrediting the NFL players. The guy trained his entire life for the NFL, and if you look at his NFL career he clearly couldnt hack it in the NFL. No shame in that

But then he starts training MMA and fights his way all the way to bellator. That's pretty impressive
Let’s have it right, it’s hugely impressive. I trained my entire life to be a footballer (my kind), if I had then managed to learn enough in combat sports to fight for Bellator I’d be buzzing my tits off. That’s a significant achievement win lose or draw. Unfortunately I was shit. Well, fortunately I suppose :)

He had the same amount of success in both the NFL and Bellator. He sucked at both.

Pretty impressive he made it all the way to bellator after retiring from the NFL

Let me know when a retired MMA fighter makes it into the NFL
Not MMA, but Stephen Neal retired from Freestyle Wrestling and made the NFL. He was the 1999 world champion but got upset for the 2000 Olympics. In his mid 20's without having played Football since high school, he tried out for the NFL. Became the starting guard for the New England Patriots for years and won 3 Super Bowl rings.

That's irrelevant

Lombard himself was a retired olympic athlete when he started in MMA and he made it all the way to being Bellator champion and UFC contender in his 30's. The same goes for many other MMA fighters. That shouldn't be a excuse for football players if they are so superior.

MMA fans don't claim that MMA fighters can play in NFL

It's NFL fans who often claim that NFL athletes are so superior that they could casually dominate MMA if they wanted to.

Yet all the evidence shows otherwise

I'm obviously trolling saying that NFL players are inferior athletes. No one really thinks that is the case. However many fans seem to not understand that different sports require different attributes. There's some overlap between the two sports but also many differences and there's no garantee that NFL players could be elite fighters if they choosed that career path.

Also, he's Cuban, so the whole "if they're such a great athlete why isn't he in the NFL" argument everyone does doesn't even apply to him. Or to Yoel. Yoel was in Cuba until he was 30 and then spent the next 4-5 years in Germany. I'm sure if he grew up in the U.S. coaches would have been drooling over turning him into a tailback.

Johnnie Morton, elite NFL 1st round draft pick athlete, was KTFO by a part time fighter, part time comedian.

Guys with more skills and training >>> athletic guys with less training (except Sherdoggers)

Morton melted the piss test too, go look up what he popped for.

It largely comes down to how people define being athletic. While some physical traits like cardio that are considered "athletic" help in a fight many don't. It doesn't matter if you can jump high or run fast if you are going to be a fighter, having a chin and punching power are probably the most important in fighting (especially at higher weights) and they don't have any effect in other non combat sports.

Fight starts at 6:00

Age:
NFL Guy 32
Lombard 32

Height
NFL Guy 6 ft 1
Lombard 5 ft 6 on a good day

MMA Experience:
NFL Guy 3 years
Lombard 5 years

Lombard shows the superior athleticism of MMA and quickly overwhelm the inferior NFL athlete in strength, speed and explosiveness resulting in a devastating knockout in just 30 seconds.

Thats what happens when inferior NFL athletes try their hand against superior genetic specimen like MMA fighters.

5 ft 6 MMA Fighter >> NFL Running Back

To this day, the best NFL managed to offer in MMA is Brendan Schaub...

Morton

1. Morton was a wide receiver, Einstein
2. Morton is 50 years old, mathematically Theres no way he was 32 in 2007 when they fought.
3. Lombard wouldn’t make a high school football team

Pathetic MMA fans always looking for validation.

Decent troll.
I'll allow it.

Troll you say?

Brock lesnar proved this theory wrong when he won the most significant ufc belt very quickly and easily

there's no barrier of entry in MMA the way there is in the NFL, and you also can't fluke your way into the NFL the way you can in MMA.
