He was actually pretty decent until the SB. Thomas Jones was in full beast mode. Dez Clark played really well too.

The stat that matters in a team sport is wins.

The only win that matters is a SuperBowl win.

No Flacco is not better than Marino. Or Manning/Brady/Brees/Rodgers.

But he is better than Ryan/Cutler/Romo and all these other chumps.

All I ever said is there are only about 6 QBs in the league currently that I would take over Flacco.

And with a good O line, he plays as good as anyone in the league. His postseason run to the SB, he was well protected. On that run, he beat Eli, Luck, Brady, Peyton and Kaep. Flacco had everything to do with that Postseason run and Championship.

He shouldve did it the year prior as well, but was a dropped TD and shanked chipshot away.

He was a QB that not many people had faith in, but he succeeded. Sounds like Brady. People want to say it was all defense and running game. But that same defense and running game didnt do shit for Boller or even McNair.

You say his one postseason run...., but you seem to leave out that it was not just Flaccos greatest run...... but the one greatest run in NFL history. That means something.

I never said he was the greatest anything, but I would take him over most current QBs.

And like I said after the top 5 QBs its pretty subjective, and people will take who they want for whatever reason.

I will agree though that a superbowl win for one player isn't really the best way to decide who is better. It's a team sport. A quarterback with a ring doesn't make a better quarterback than one without.

As for which a franchise would rather have, a championship or a great HoF quarterback; well of course the championship. But that's a different argument.

I'm not going to pretend I didn't just walk into this thread though, so if this isn't even what you guys are talking about, well, then shit.

They got a super bowl and he put in a great playoff run, its hard to argue with results. I don't think he was worth that payday, but if you have a qb that is capable of winning you a superbowl, you have to hold on to them.
