Wentz 6.2 Ypa = 36th in the league among qualified QBs (70+ attempts)

Lol

NFL.com has a list of the top offenses of all time. They made the right choice at #1.

They really should've had the 2011 Saints though.

Obviously the rules changes over the years impact this rating but i can clearly remember the first time I saw Air Coryell. It was like watching man walk on the moon for the first time or something. Those Chargers looked unstoppable. The Steelers were the defending SB champs and were just trucked by San Diego in 1979. They were down 35-0 before they even knew what was happening. It was stunning to watch.

How was their rushing game though? The 99 Rams were #1 in total offense, #1 yards per play, #1 in passing offense, #5 in rushing offense, and #1 in scoring offense.

#1 offense, #2 in scoring. Fouts had 4700yds passing and 30 TDs. He was the only player to pass for 4000yds at that point. They had 3 1,000yd receivers including Kellen Winslow (the GOAT TE).

They were next to last in rushing offense though.

Lol

Bradford being at 7+ was a shocker to me. Then i remembered he broke the Completion % record. Couldn't find individual Yards Per Completion stats, but team-wise Houston was dead last followed by Minnesota. Makes a little more sense.

1800 yds was 2nd last - LOL. Chuck Muncie fixed that the next year. In 1981/2 they had Muncie and James Brooks which was probably the best 1-2 RB combo. TBF with that kind of passing game, why run it.

They were 16th in 81 and 11th in 82. It's a shame they never even got to a SB.

@therealdope The 81 Chargers had that crazy playoff game in Miami with how hot and humid it was and immediately had to play @ Cincinnati the next week with the -59 F wind chill.

Carr was 5.5 his rookie year. WRs have a lot to do with those numbers.

The "fumble " into the end zone in the AFC championship game is what got the Raiders the SB that year. Caused teh NFL to change the rules about advancing a fumble inside the 20.

Ridiculous.

Yup. THe game in Miami is the greatest NFL game I've ever seen. I was a big Chargers fan back then.

The -59F game was just stupid. 27-7. They were never in it:(

@The Higher Power

NFL Network's "America's Game: The Missing rings" had a great film about the 1981 Chargers. They don't cover the drug problems and the Dan Fouts getting shot by the husband of a cheating wife he was banging, but still a great watch. Check it out.

I remember those teams. And yeah Muncie was very good. Brooks was also although he had his best years in Cincy. There were some great Raider-Charger match-ups back then.

I'd probably do the same thing Revis did if two drunk idiots confronted me out at that time of night.

I think Wentz has better weapons (not saying much compared to 2014 Raiders lol..). Eagles OL wasn't as good when Lane Johnson missed 10 games, but overall it's still a top 10 unit and way better then what other QBs are getting. Carr's leading receivers that year were 2 shitty WRs. Wentz's leading receiver is a TE, followed by Mathews, followed by a 3rd down back in Sproles.. Getting to the point where I sound Anti-Wentz to make my point, I just don't see the qualities he displayed that make people think he will be a legit NFL qb.

inaccurate pocket passer = I'm not a fan.
