Yea the reactions are pretty funny.

Raider fans be like-"Fuck, I didn't think we'd win this one but damn we had so many opportunities and blew it. We'll see how the season plays out, on to the next."

Chiefs fans be like-"That wasn't the prettiest win but in this division I'll take it. Sucks about DJ, hope we can adjust. Anyway, first place baby!"

Broncos fans be like-

At least Oakland's got your attention. Get used to it, Raiders aren't going away for a long time.
Already proclaiming yourself as here to stay after one good season?

You of all people should know how quickly 15-1 can turn into 4-8.

Glad I didnt start Carr on my fantasy team last night. Heyyyy-OOOOOOO!!!

For Raiders fans:

It was obvious that Carr's pinky had an effect on his play last night, but did he favor it after coming up from getting hit/sacked ever?

I really think the Carr is bad in cold weather narrative is a pretty fair one. On the pregame show, Dungy said he was throwing a good ball in warmups.

Kings helping make punters cool. His slick dance moves and almost Chris Jones level athleticism really make him a spotlight.

Think it was just a bad game, he looked antsy out there.

And the chiefs dropping 9 into coverage to take away the quicker throws is pretty smart. Teams should do that vs Alex more.

I liked how Sutton dialed up that last night in the first half. He was setting up rushing four with Houston and Ford for the second half (which he did) but unfortunately DJs achilles popped and gave any hope of stopping/containing the run, so I dont think the pass rush really got in rhythm.

I honestly feel like if DJ was in the whole game that the Raiders dont even get 13. It could have gotten real ugly if Houston/Ford got going.

Cowboys will do this a lot, but mostly just because they can't get to the QB consistently no matter what they do, anyway. So you may as well

That duck was a thing of beauty. Took me back to Peyton's days.

That shit was like Tim Wakefield's knuckleball. You had no idea what path it was going to take to get there, but you knew it would get there for a strike.

Exactly. Can't get home? Flood the passing lanes.

Dropping 9 like that is risky against Smith and Reid's offense. They don't give a shit about punting the ball so they'll run draw plays on 3rd and long. If a defense runs that same play against a draw the o-line is 10 yards downfield shoving everybody backpedaling to the ground. Not to mention that if they pass the dude's got wheels when he isn't cowering to the ground on a barely collapsed pocket.

Just a shitty game imo. No excuses. He and the receivers were both off badly.

Unless the cameras just didnt show it I dont recall him favoring it. Im sure its not 100% but I dont believe its the culprit.

OK point taken. I don't see this Raider team going that way though, they've been on a steady upswing for a few years and have a solid young core. Of course losing someone like Carr to serious injury could derail things for a season but I don't see this season as a flash in the pan, more an expected improvement. Oakland is really still a few pieces away from being elite IMO but I see the OAK/DEN/KC rivalry being pretty much high-level intensity for a few more years at least.

I think it's fair at this point in his career but that doesn't mean he won't improve with experience. I think last night was a combination of physical and mental factors. He was like a pitcher who walks a few guys then has trouble throwing a strike. Playing in Arrowhead in December didn't help. Also on that floating knuckler to Cooper he looked like he scooped that one out with three fingers on replay. Judging by the interviews I've seen he took this loss like a man and he'll grow from it.

With all due respect and best wishes to DJ (I never celebrate injuries to rival teams' players, that's bad juju man), didn't Oakland score their only TD with him on the field? The last 3 was purely off of a defensive play. Austin Howard got his ass kicked, Penn held up just fine.

Raiders should have run the damn ball more. Just a bad game on all levels. Congrats to the Chiefs, please beat the Patriots if it comes to that, all will be forgiven.

DJs achilles popped during their 92 yard drive to score before half. Cant remember what yard line it was, but I remember it being on their own side of the field.

Wasn't it right before the 2 minute warning?

Alright then that makes sense, it took KC a bit to adjust and the Raiders took advantage.

Interesting year, the AFC West homestretch should be entertaining as hell.
