Worked at the USCG base downtown next to the airport, lived in the north county on Black Mountain with a view of the Del Mar Racetrack and the Pacific.

Usually didn't eat in the city, but the little suburbs had great spots aside from the pizza and shawrma. The local pizza spots were meh, and this was after living in Buffalo and growing up in Detroit...so I had to do franchise pizza for the sake of consistency.
