I don't get this Chiefs thing becoming such a big story. Are we just gonna not count penalties anymore? or only count them if they are really big violations and not minor ones? or only call them if they don't happen on plays where nothing really cool from Mahomes or Kelce happens?

It is just bizarre because nobody is arguing it wasn't a penalty. They are just arguing that they should have let it slide. And of course doing that would not open a slippery slope at all

The officials ignore defensive linemen with their helmets in the neutral zone on almost every play. As long as they don't move before the snap they, don't call it.
