Some thoughts on some terrible coaching coming to a head today:
Benching Wilson was a horrible decision and has been an absolute disaster. He's not very good and his teammates hate him, but Saleh wants to be the "Vibes Guy" so bad he let the locker room full of guys fresh out of college in on the decision of who their QB is. Absolutely unacceptable. Wilson was struggling on the field, but your job as a franchise is to paper over that as much as possible. There were very few games where you could just say "Well, the Jets just lost because of Wilson". They're a flawed team on every level, super talented, nailed the draft last year, but still flawed. Instead of telling guys like Garrett Wilson to shut the fuck up and stop whining about the QB, he replaced the QB with another who is playing like shit. Now you have a #2 pick who doesnt want to play for you whatsoever and no way of going back to him and saying "we fucked up" for the third time.
O'Connell not going for it on that first fourth down was just bitchmade and started the avalanche of bad play that was that game. Going for the FG before the half was stupid too.
Rivera is an absolute dipshit. Seriously, tying your mast to WENTZ? WENTZ??? fucking A man, just so fucking dumb. Great way to get your players to have zero confidence in your decision making.
