Revo looks like Swagger/his dog. But give the man credit, his wife is an LA-4

On a different note, I'm already hearing questions about a dynasty or how many rings Mahomes will get. Pump the brakes, fam.

Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson had to deal with different issues than Mahomes will (assuming he gets paid this offseason).

Rodgers had to deal with a middling HC and isn't a natural leader; the dude will always play selfish hero ball. He is brilliant, and I think the most naturally talented QB ever, but he isn't changing at 35/36 or however old he is. He was essentially hamstrung by coaching and that may have exaggerated his 'this is my show' mentality.

It's different for Russell. He seems unappreciated. Dude has had MVP like seasons with terrible lines and middling talent around him, and even though he's kind of a weirdo- didn't some of the defensive players from their SB runs talk shit on him? i.e. some teammates weren't fully on board with him for awhile. He also got a ring stolen from him because 4D chess says to call a slant into traffic on 2nd & goal.

I think Mahomes will be at the mercy of Brett Veach /Andy Reid and his ginormous contract. His teammates love him and I think there will be players who chase rings if they're passed their prime or want to ball out on a prove it type deal. Veach had a monster 2019- his draft, FA/waiver wire moves were essential to the Chiefs winning a SB. Thank god for that because his 2018 draft and FA signings were almost as bad as 2019 was great. If Veach can hit on the draft and find value in defensive players in FA/waiver wire, the Chiefs have a chance to be good for a long, long time. But, even though the sample size is small, he's completely struck out (2018) and hit a home run (2019). Dude was groomed under Andy Reid and so they're always going to tilt to being an offense-first team. If they can't keep the defense respectable then they're not gonna be in many title games. Can't neglect that side of the ball. Chiefs had a lot of talent this year for Spags.

Drew Brees has a great coach and has been to 1 super bowl even though he played in the NFC for most of his career. It really takes some luck along with having the talent. Mahomes in coming in at the perfect time though, the entire old guard is retiring /washed up.

Tbh given that the guy threw 50 TD's as a rookie it's totally appropriate to have this sort of talk. Remember some present biased people are going to end up being right. I think people are fatigued of predicting dynasties when it keeps not materializing. But this ain't the same as the Eagles where the team was dependent on depth rather than talent.

And Mahomes losing in the 18 playoffs was mostly out of his control. You had the offsides then they lost the coin toss. Those things decided the game and neither were things Mahomes had any control over.

I legitimately always forget about Brees only being in one SB. Yikes

Besides watching my fantasy team's players, I pay waayyy more attention to the AFC. Filthy casual confirmed.

You must not be familiar with Dan Marino's career

If KC gets complacent then they will fall back into the pack

And that’s the thing with football. It’s not always going to come down to one guy’s performance.

I mean Mahomes already passed the hurdle Marino's infamous for not jumping. Marino also did that in his second year starting not his first. And dude is in the Hall of Fame and had most of the records when he retired, so not a bad comparison.

Then again Rodgers and Brees have shown that a great statistical QB winning 1 SB instead of 0 doesn't change all that much in terms of how you're viewed if you go a long time without winning another. They are talked about quite similarly to how Marino was back in the 2000s honestly surprised in hindsight didn't see that coming.

I take both of your points and agree with the first completely.

In the case of the 2018 playoffs, I put some of that on Reid not firing Sutton after the 2017 collapse against the Titans. That was two years in a row (2016 against the Steelers) that the team got completely steamrolled by the run in the playoffs and had no answer for it. And also remember that they were up 38-10 at one point against the Colts in the 2013 playoffs! There were a ton of people calling for Sutton's job after 2017- he absolutely refused to make adjustments to his scheme or scheme specifically for an opponent. It was unbelievable. You could have HoF talent at every position and if the offense knows what your assignments are they're going to be able to impose their will. I guess Andy didn't want to bring in so much change for Mahomes' first year as a starter, but loyalty to friends even when they're underperforming is something that Reid has had trouble with.

Marino shattered the TD record in his first full season as a starter. Took his team to the SB, lost to the superteam Niners. Everyone thought it would be the first of a career full of SB appearances. But the Dolphcans quickly got complacent, over-relying on Marino's arm and the Shula/Perfect Season brand to stay relevant. Everyone knows the rest of the story

My point isn't really how Mahomo will be viewed if he doesn't win another but more a case study in what will likely happen if KC's front office even slightly takes their foot off the pedal

Brees has been prevented from going back to the SB by a 1 in a million fluke play, a horrific non-call by the refs, and then his defense shitting the bed in OT in the past three seasons. Saints sold their soul to the devil for that 2009 win, and this is their payment.

Plus they were helping the Catholic church cover up molesting kids so fuck em.

That also. So yah, fuck the Saints. Karma is a hell of a bitch, and hopefully it ain't done yet.

@FLYOVER BOSSMAN @metal @Cantalope @OnionKnight86

If done right no can defense. ;)

Honestly though, u can’t fault Mosley too much. Tough spot to be in. Baited by Watkins in Match coverage, but with deep third responsibility too.

Warner in that play told the secondary to watch the middle. That Dude was a beast as well in that game, after Bosa.
