They have him on a program, this is all part of the plan. Compared to his pro day, he's already lost over 30 pounds.
Maybe I heard wrong, but hasn't he been on that "plan" for quite a while? I was pretty sure they told him from the time he signed that he had to lose weight before camp if he wanted to participate. In three months he lost a total of 14 lbs. For someone that size, 14 lbs can be lost in two days or less. I hope he does well, but he's not off to a promising start.

From a coach perspective I think the mindset is probably “he’s grossly overweight and out of shape. If he can do that in this condition imagine if we get him in shape”

I don't disagree, his speed defies logic at that size. He has the potential to be special. But if my multi million dollar contract depending on me losing weight, I'd damn sure take it serious. The fact he didn't even attempt to start getting into shape before camp doesn't seem promising.

I dont think they're too worried about him playing right now, I think they're more into trying to get him healthy. Not just a football healthy, but a regular life type of healthy.

They knew what they were signing up for signing him, so hopefully he puts the work in now

This era of athletes have the weakest ligaments imaginable. Tear ACLs getting out of bed in the morning.

He's already perfected HerbWOAT's offense
