Used to be like that. Almost every rookie QB that gets taken in the first round starts in their rookie year now. Only one that didn't last year was JJ and that's because he got hurt.For a rookie QB, you get drafted, you learn from the old man, then step up.
That's how it's done the majority of the time. Sanders and Son might've just mouthed themselves into the UFL.
Because of the rookie cap, teams only have 3 years to decide if they have their guy or not before picking up their option.
