This is pointless if they’re still just measuring where the ref is spotting the ball. I don’t think anyone has questioned how they measure near as much as where they spot the ball.

This is another thing that the UFL uses that the NFL will now implement on a trial basis, the other being the XFL kickoff rule that will debut this upcoming season. The UFL measuring system all digital and the ref will no longer have the ability for a bad spot. The system tracks the ball in play and provides real-time measurements to the first down line. The other week during a UFL game on Fox, Curt Menefee mentioned during the game that the system works great and was wondering why the NFL is still using chains. lol
