Canada has curling on lockdown

It's actually gotten extremely competitive over the last decade or so. To the point where the Turkish women's team almost beat the winningest team in Canadian curling history at the world championships this year.

But that doesn't matter. The real story of curling that needs to be told is that the Russian athletics commission, in an effort to develop a national curling program, recruited a bunch of figure skaters to start training up to world standard (thinking they'd do well since they were already comfortable on ice). The results were rather impressive.
