How is it that they cant exactly? 10 win Playoff team with some of the absolute worst QB play in the entire league.

Did you actually watch any of the Steelers games this year, or for the last 2-3 years for that matter? They were out played in most of the games they did win this year, shit I think in almost all of their wins they were out gained by the other team on offense. They won games by the other teams beating themselves (see Baltimore dropping 50 passes in the first game, resting starters in the second game, etc) or by Watt making massive plays. This is all even more evident when they play actual good teams, especially in the playoffs, they get absolutely smoked. Shit they dropped back to back home games against 2 win teams.

In their last 5 playoff games the Steelers have been outscored 66-0 in the first quarter, losing by an average of 10 points. They did pretty much nothing with the second half of Ben's career minus one run to the AFC championship where they got smoked by the Patriots. There is nothing about this team that gives any indication they are going a true competitive playoff team any time soon, especially being in the meat grinder that is the AFC north now.

I think that was the moment I really became a Steelers cynic. I was so confident going into that OT. They couldn't even beat us with just a field goal, cause the rules had just been changed. I think sticking with Tomlin and Pickett is reasonable. Pickett is still on his baby contract. If the offense spends a bunch of the season looking like shit though, I think you'll finally see the push to move on from Tomlin from the masses. We all doubted the Arthur Smith hiring, and it might turn out pretty good, but if it doesn't it really should point to some inherent inability to evaluate coordinators. It's been like a decade since we had one that even decent, that's not just random chance.
