If anyone tuned in just because they played in a new stadium then I doubt they were a big enough football fan to be aware that the Raiders were playing in a new stadium.

Last season MNF Raiders v, Broncos Week 1 at the Coliseum 9.7M viewers. 50%+ increase. Something changed.

Something definitely changed that might have an effect on TV ratings since then. Can't quite put my finger on it though...

I think you’re onto something.

That’s why last weeks games saw the same 50% increase, and definitely not a double digit decrease. This damn virus must have kept more people home this Monday than 7 days prior...

In fairness, I didn't realize football was even happening until kickoff last Sunday. Totally missed the first Thursday game. I doubt I was the only one who wasn't paying the NFL any mind.

Who gives a fuckin turkey that the game was played in Vegas? I don't think Vegas was a bad idea. I do think Davis is a moron mostly. Neither of these things have anything to do with TV ratings especially during these difficult times.

Of course the move to Vegas is a factor in the ratings. The Raiders essentially have two home markets now

Of course in reality neither the pandemic or a move to Vegas was 100% responsible for an increase in ratings. I would guess that Covid has more to do with it than people wanting to watch a game played in a new state. Either way bragging about how many people watched your favorite teams game is weird.

That would mean that NFL fans living in Vegas either quit being a fan of another team or non fans in the area decided to start watching football because there is a team in their town. No doubt that this happened because there are some really fuckin stupid people out there, but I wouldn't think that the numbers would be that big.

Well the numbers are what they are:

22 million viewers in Las Vegas was the most in the country though.

Obviously it's a good sign for the Raiders, but let's see if they actually sustain a team in Las Vegas. The shiny new thing is always the big rage, especially in that town.

If Covid had more to do with it, then why the Week 1 MNF ratings tank? You can’t selectively say it was responsible for Week 2 increase when literally 7 days prior says conclusively otherwise.

And it’s not bragging - was just debating as recently as yesterday, in previous threads, whether the move to Vegas was the right call.

Protesting football crowd is big mad. Taking L’s every week.
naw fam. those cans will mention some random shit game for evidence that they're losing some viewership. lmao

Surprisingly the hockey team has done great, so I can see them having success. I know plenty of raider fans in socal with season tickets. They still sort of scooped up their LA market

I don't see why anyone would argue against moving to Vegas. New stadium plus more monies is a no brainer. Last weeks MNF was a double header and there was no fucking way I was sitting through a Giants game so I passed on it and tuned in when Denver started. Hard to compare a double header to a single night game.

Week one had two games with mostly shit teams. Lets see how next week does.

But it smashed the previous single night games as well. That’s the 31% increase.

Let’s just agree to disagree, call each other assholes, and move on.

Fair, but didn't they also go to the Ship their first year there?

Cant believe were legit debating whether or not that was a huge success for viewership. Amazing lol.
