What does Jones/Pereira do? I'm just saying if it's not for a vacant title, then it basically ruins Alex's chance at a 3rd belt. Then for Jon, he's a HW wrestler fighting a former MW kickboxer. He already proved that with Gane. To me it's just a money chasing fight. Maybe it's like a fantasy matchup of LHW top dogs. Would've been better if Aspinall was out and Jones was champ.

I wish. UFC probably doesn't want to burn a whole year on a handshake agreement.

As a fan it's pretty stupid too, because we've 1 real hw fight in 2023, then the belt was defended 2024 (many don't agree it's a real defense even). 2025 was a fight that didn't finish the 1st round or complete. So really since 2023 is probably the last year we truly got to see a HW championship bout. Which is horrible.

Then add how with Pereira's age and how soon he could leave any time, he surely deserves a HW title fight like DC got back in the day. Doing an interim is just going to delay it or risk the first potential triple weight champ.

Aspinall/Jones is going to have to be a direct booking that the UFC puts Jones at liability to back out to solidify it or something. I want it too, but clearly the UFC doesn't think it's a sure thing.
