Paul and Jason are good guys and I train under Paul. You should give it as go, just expect to get tapped for a while as there are some decent guys at the gym.

What are the beginners classes like? Are they complete beginner lessons and drills? I've read some BJJ books and stuff but nothing too heavy.

The beginners classes are for beginners, so the techniques taught are relevent to people of that level. There will be people of different abilities in there from white to brown belt. Give it a go and just relax. Don't expect to be BJ Penn after 3 sessions, just follow the advice they give you, it's not a bad gym at all, some good lads train there.
