I know somebody who has comeback from Newzeland after about 10 years with his wife. He said its a nice spacious clean place to live,low crime but very expensive. Expensive as in seeing the dentist or opticians is twice as expensive. Food is about 1.5x the price as in UK. The wages you get are less than uk for same profession but cost of living, food, doctor, dentist, electricity and gass much more expensive.

Yeah half my friends are from NZ, its the way it is, for the same trade / job, you will earn about half as what you get in Aus. Cost of living is less, but it still works out way less.
