Was trolling Youtube came across this.
What do you guys think?

I personally think it is a step in the right direction. Announce the hydration test then give the fighters extra time to comply. I am not sure If I like the 72 hour advance weigh in like they suggested though.

The modified weigh in show could be interesting... I wonder what format it would take on?
I know it is CSAC only but still could be a sign of things to come

If Guys like Connor, barao, ect wanna risk their life to make weight for a division they're best suited for then by all means let em. Who gives a fuck? why is that a gripe people have.
These motherfuckers choose to fuck people up/get fucked up for a living, they dont need you to protect them. Just the ref, and thats sketchy enough as is.

Like USADA, it's an image/liability thing.

Once a year weighins would simplify the process. Most fighters are 20+ pounds away from their weight class anyway.

I like the 72hr weigh-in idea.Lets guys come in fully rehydrated and reduces brain damage

If the hydration test is morning of weigh-ins everyone will have to move up a weight class. If the hydration test is the day of the fights, then 72 hours before the fight weighing in will give all fighters the chance to cut more weight than ever before.

Last I checked they wanted to do hydration test the day of the fight. You are one of the only people who understood that meant bigger weight cuts, not smaller.

At for me, and many of us, it's their opponents that we are protecting. I couldn't care less if they themselves died from cutting too much, that is their own choice.

I'm concerned about their opponents' fair chance to fight someone in their own weight class and make a living.

This. Also let's let fighters fulfill their potential by legalizing steroids. MMA would be way amazing.

Retarded people who dont know anything about mma really need to stop trying to make rules for "safety" u guys about to ruin mma like they ruined football.

This. I see this as counterintuitive to the iv ban. They ban iv's to eliminate big cuts( or so I thought might be wrong). Then they just allow guys more time to rehydrate naturally. Am I way off?

IV ban had nothing to do with cuts, it was because IV's can be used to mask PED use.

Thank you. I thought I must be missing something.
So the hydration check the morning of the fight is actually a pretty good balance.

I would actually like them to address weight cutting, but the hydration check is important too.

Weight cutting can be dangerous if the promotions don't do something to restrict it.A fighters walk-aroud weight should determine their true weight class, with only a 10% allowable cut. Fighters would be stronger, look less gaunt, and having to move up a weight class isn't a bad thing, just safer. Promoters can control this by randomly weighing fighters before a contract is signed. Not hard to do with an athletic commission rep and Skype.
