News New UFC gloves will NOT be used at UFC 309 this weekend - Old gloves will be used instead

Wasnt there something about the new gloves producing less KO/TKOs? Perhaps this we lead to more comfy feeling for fighters and we have more finishes than before the data comes out with the new gloves

I had the chance to try out the 'Jon Jones Glove' (left) this afternoon actually, and can attest that they're one for grappling purists, really. They force the hands closed, but only to the tiniest of fractions.

The 'Chris Weidman Glove' (right) is kinda similar, but has the additional 'Power to Disarm' attribute that forces referee's to STFU and refuse to enforce fouls.

So let's get this straight... 12-6 elbows allowed now, switching back to the old gloves for easier eye pokes, USADA gone... Also even when USADA was doing the testing, they gave Jones a short suspension for ratting and also stopped counting picograms because of him... Is there anything else I'm missing? Does Jones really need all of this help to beat a 90 year old Stipe?

Told y'all ...

Ducks have fingers,
and the UFC is changing the gloves specifically for Jon.

<GOT2>

They changed so much for Jon it's actually ridiculous. Changed the location of an event so that he could still fight, came up with the "pulsing" bs and got USADA to stop testing for picograms. They want his NC to be overturned now because of that. They just made 12-6 elbows legal again... And of course Dana wants his dq loss overturned now because of it xD.
