So, I've watched a couple of WC's and now wanting to get a bit more invested in teams/leagues to make it even more enjoyable. So...

EPL or La Liga? Both?
Whats the deal with the Champions Leauge?
Why are there so many events going on, such as all these friendlies? Feels like it dilutes it a bit when teams don't play their hardest or players sit out.

You can learn the answer to those question by going to your local recycling center

La Liga.

Champions League takes the best finishers (top 4) from the European leagues and pits them against each other. The club that win are truly champions among champions.

At the moment it's pre-season and clubs are playing friendlies to get dat fitness going for when league play starts next month. They're not significant games

Champions League is basically a 'best team in Europe' type deal. Takes all the top teams from the European leagues and pits them against each other. It's threaded into the league season along with the various other cup competitions.

depending on your cable
youll get all the premier league games w/ nbc sports

Premiership is the most entertaining, most watched/followed and most media covered League.

You're better off just watching when the WC comes around every 4 years. Soccer, or "football as it's known as overseas, is incredibly boring/unpopular outside of World Cup time. It's not a day-to-day type sport like NBA, NFL, etc since it get's really boring and there's like a million teams you have to follow.

I'm going to invest my time into la liga and follow real sociedad. It's really up to you on who you want to follow TS.

Don't listen to this.

This helps, but still a little biased/wrong. No Arsenal or Manchester City in the "Premier league big teams"?? lol, Man City are the current champions ffs.

Also, the Eredivisie IS quite competitive, yes Ajax have won the last 4 in a row, but they were made to work for it.

I watch premier league, La Liga and Eredivisie. IMO, the premier league is the most entertaining league. High tempo/intensity games, the fans are more invested and the managers are more charismatic ... last year you Wenger, Mourinho, Moyes, Di Canio ... their reactions to some of the goals/moments were great.

Sorry Liverpool fans, I actually wanted Liverpool to win by this point, but Mourinho's celebration was hilarious and epic:

Last season was a very entertaining season, Man Utd falling apart under their new manager, Arsenal dominating and then falling apart after christmas (happens every season, TBF), Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea playing leapfrog till the end. Sunderland surviving relegation.

The champions league as mentioned is to determine the "best team in Europe" and IMO, has the highest quality of football in the world, moreso than the world cup. Some of the goals you see in the champions league are just top drawer.

This season is already shaping up to be a classic, Man Utd have a new, kind of "controversial" manager, Arsenal and Liverpool have made some signings, Chelsea have strengthened A LOT, Man City have been quiet, but expect some big signings anytime soon.

The premiership season starts August 16th!! Get involved!!

EPL or La Liga? Both?

Take a look at the 5 best euro leagues
EPL
La Liga
1.Bundesliga-Germany
Serie A-Italy
Ligue 1-France

Whats the deal with the Champions Leauge?

Basically it pits the best euro teams from the previous season against eachother to find the best european team

England,Spain,Germany currently have 4 spots,Italy 3 and so on

Why are there so many events going on, such as all these friendlies? Feels like it dilutes it a bit when teams don't play their hardest or players sit out.

Currently its pre season (season starts in late August/early september and ends in late May in most countries) and Teams are trying to get up on their fitness, trying to sort out their starting 11 and tactics, thats what friendlies are for

Support West Ham and have the best supporters song in soccer.!

I prefer Chel$ea's variety of songs tbh.

This one is my personal favourite: "Chelsea! Chelsea! Chelsea!"

Smh - this guy has no idea what he's talking about.

Football is not boring at all, yes there may be one or two games where nothing happens but 99% of the games are enjoyable.
