New tattoo... how long until I can roll again?

I have 3 large tattoos and I was back on the mat the next day for each. I had no problems or complications of any kind other than getting some ointment on the mat (which is easily cleaned.


I had it covered in ointment and saran wrap. 14 days is ridiculous.

I took about 4 days off (from Judo) after getting a tat on my upper right arm. Took good care of it before after and during and didn't mess anything up.

depends the size, just keep teh cream on good and kjeep it clean, once its done scabbing you should be able to start grappling again give it 4 or five days and should be good, once its not swollen and puffed out you should be good to go.

Yeah. Wait until it's healed (not scabbed over). Otherwise, you can:

a. Mess up the ink.

b. You'll be even more susceptible to infection.

Shouldn't be terribly long though...two or three weeks tops.

Just remember it's not the ink getting messed up that's a problem. It's the risk of getting infected because it's one giant open wound. Think of it like road rash.

I got a sleeve on thursday night and rolled the next day. No infection, and nothing happened to the work. I rolled with a rash guard on for 2 days and then went back to just wearing a t for no gi and gi classes.
