New research concludes that life is not worth living

Research is for the weak, especially new research.

Personally, the concept of living forever is extremely daunting. I don't think people give enough thought to what concepts like "forever" and "infinity" actually mean.

It takes effort and a little genetic luck but maintaining an acceptable quality of life while aging gracefully is not beyond one’s reach.

concepts of infinity and forever in this context are not taken literally — at least not for me.

However, if living responsibly can ensure eternal quality of life then bring on the immortality.

Agree with the first part but I think it's more than a little genetic luck.

If "forever" isn't to be taken literally then how were you using it?

Even with decent quality of life, I wouldn't want any part of it. There's a tremendous amount of pain and suffering that one would go through in an eternity of being alive. It's not even fathomable.

I wonder if this is more of the "Expert warns that shoveling snow can be a deadly way to discover underlying cardiovascular conditions" or "Wave of cardiac condition possibly linked to climate changes" or "Thousands having heart attacks because they miss the early signs" or "Here's the healthy diet that could cause heart attacks" or "Over a quarter of a million Brits could face a new heart-related illness due to stress of the Covid pandemic" or "Researchers warn cold weather causes blood clots and heart attacks" or "Energy bill price rise may cause heart attacks and strokes" or "Depression worsened during pandemic, boosting heart disease" or "Physical activity may increase heart attack risk, study suggests." Don't worry sheeple, spontaneously keeling over is just the New Normal™.

I mean even in folks who live over 80, if you manage to go cancer free (or beat it), and your brain is in decent shape, the heart usually fails you and kills you in your 80s or 90s.

But plenty of people have a ton of bad habits while exercising and eating vegetables and get to enjoy longevity.

Also it's pretty well documented now that covid can do a ton of vascular damage, and people can have an increased risk of stroke / pulmonary embolism / myocardial infarction for 6-12 months after mild to moderate cases of infection.

You mean I killed myself for nothing? Dammit.

I'm not against small pleasures but I don't want a flaccid dick and men boobs.
