Just picked this new magazine at the Airport last night. Probably pretty basic for the likes of Doughbelly/Tomax etc -but still a good read with a ton of content. I figure after the cool Bushcraft/Camping threads we had in 2011 this would be a interesting read for some of you self sufficient adventurous types.
love it "Build a Cabin on a Budget" "Tanning with Acorns" Definitely something I'll look for and buy next time I'm at a magazine stand.
I'll probably check it out. Not as advanced as Tomax or Dough, but do have some survival type skills. Plus, I wanna build a cabin and have no budget
I love the specialized ads that pop up in threads. Survivalist thread.... well come buy this!! or this!
Here is the best source for survival. Dave Canterbury's youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/wildernessoutfitters/videos?view=0
This makes me want to start some strange threads just to see what pops up. Fistulated Cow thread in 3,...2....1.....
And when your done reading it you can always use the cover to collect water in case of an emergency and the pages to help start a fire!
I wouldn't consider him a complete phony, he just "exaggerated" his military background. In all seriousness though, he is still a really smart guy with a ton of usable information.
I'm not nearly as good at this stuff as everyone thinks I am. As a matter of fact, some of those articles sound interesting. I just looked at the magazine rack at the local BX and its not available. Anyone feel like mailing it to my APO?
Not to put too fine of a point on it but to lay it on thick to get in some girl's panties is one thing. To misrepresent your service to the public is another. In my mind, that guy is a phony. He's smart and in the Discovery Channel episodes I've seen, he often has a point over his partner, but at the end of the day he's still a phony.
