New gun laws in Georgia

And you think the battles just magically occur at any point in time with only seconds warning?
And so he needs to be prepared for this Battle 24/7 even while in church, school or drinking a few on a thursday eve?

I don't see the government being able to turn tyranical and launch into battle before the average citizen could go to his car or home and get his gun.

Fires and car accidents don't necessarily require planning either, they could in fact happen at any time. Guess by that rationale, seatbelts, spare tires and fire extinguishers are useless.

There are no guarantees in life, the great thing about freedom is choosing your own level of involvement, or in this case, preparation.

In other news, Hoodie sales in GA have plummeted

I said "He's learning to wear it comfortably." That's another way of saying he is practicing with it. Most people practice before they have to do something so they can be better at it when the time comes. He's making sure his equipment is in working order and that he is properly acquainted with it (well-regulated).

Don't like that explanation? How about "keep and bear"? That means having them and taking them out of the house (so one can practice).

Add in "not be infringed" and the Amendment couldn't be more clear in preventing the government from preventing anyone from carry a gun in public or on any private property where the owner allows it.

Well all this means to me is that my son and I basically can't leave our yard unless we're together. My wife is from the Philippines so she's good to go.

"I swear Officer I saw him pull a gun!" (I don't have or own one by the way).

"Well, he IS athletic and explosive, so.... Yeah, you're good to go."

Thank the Lord for Amazon...

Didn't you see the new red dawn? They'd barely woken up before the commandos were on the ground.

Haven't seen it, but I presume they were sleeping in their homes.

I read regulated as in the milita is regulated ie has regulations and isn't just a haphazard group of dudes who want to shoot shit. I think this distinction was designed to seperate the rightful gun owners from bands of criminals.

So he needs to be able to practise with his gun in schools, churches and bars as opposed to doing so in more suitable situations?

Lot's of people who forget words have more than one meaning (especially if they are taken out of context from 200+ years ago) make that same mistake. How could the same government both make regulations and not infringe at the same time?

Well regulated means something more like "in working order", not "having presumably benevolent rules dictated to it". Look it up. I'm glad to help clear up your confusion.

Here's a start. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second...s_Constitution#District_of_Columbia_v._Heller

Regarding the term "well regulated", the majority opinion said, "The adjective 'well-regulated' implies nothing more than the imposition of proper discipline and training."[

So one guy carrying his gun is an example of self-imposed regulation.

The last two provisions are dumb. Why no fingerprinting or DB of owners? It would make it a lot easier to track stolen guns and I don't really see how it harms lawful gun owners. The rest of the stuff is somewhat silly posturing. People can bring concealed weapons wherever they like, they're concealed. Unless you're making them pass through a metal detector it's a law with no teeth. As much as I dislike guns and the excessive love of guns displayed by many on the right I'm not naive enough to think gun free zones do anything useful.

have you never seen Red Dawn?

have you never heard of those assholes in NYC who published where gun owners live?

when the tyrants here take full power then you will know the power of not having a list.

why should you have to be fingerprinted to have a gun. it is your god given right as an american.
this is what our country was founded on by men who were geniuses.

there never was a democracy as good as ours and never will be again. we have to hold on where possible.

the problem with your thinking is that it is a knee jerk reaction and you have not extensively thought about what the ramifications are either way. just another uneducated voter.

What's inappropriate? Other than carrying to a range you can make the same argument for every place a person goes. Think it through. Person leaves the house and takes their gun for the day. A small part of that day is picking up their kid at school or their wife at the bar she works or even going to a service. You want the guy to leave his gun unattended in the car?

So the miltia they belong to should have the "imposition of proper discipline and training".

I have never considered a miltia to be a suitable term to describe a single person.

Would you support some form an compliance to ensure gun owners have proper discipline and training?

You're abandoning your position that the federal government is justified in using "well-regulated" to pass anti-gun laws? Good. I'll be calling you out if I see you retake that stance. :D

It's not. A militia is a group that is comprised of people (in some cases that's considered to be every able-bodied individual). Notice it's "the people" whose right to keep and bear shall not be infringed. This is all quite simple when you add it up rather than take each piece of a sentence out of context and try to apply new meaning to it while ignoring the existence of the other words in the sentence.

On a state level I would have but now the states' hands are tied due to incorporation. Any infringement is now unlawful on not just the federal level but the state and local level too. That's what the law says and I believe that government needs to be held to being allowed to do only those things it was authorized to do. The Constitution can be changed if a decisive majority desires it.

I would be in favor of adding firearms training to PE classes if you really need the government to coerce people in to gaining some amount of gun experience. Voluntary free tax-payer funded classes at the local community college are great too. If we can't put a simple requirement like an ID for voting on a right that isn't outlined in the Bill of Rights then even asking for an ID to exercise a right that is must also be considered unacceptable.

Sorry that should have had a question mark next to it,

So the miltia they belong to should have the "imposition of proper discipline and training"?

Hell yes. Now my sisters can take guns with them to their ghetto ass schools they teach in.
