This is nothing like Cosby or being in denial to not tarnish his legacy. Cosby was proven to drug many women so he could abuse them. The allegations against Ali are unsubstantiated and most have 0 proof other than, "believe me it happened a long time ago".

Remember this was also the Jim Crow South so times were much, much different in a lot of regards. You need to have a historical context and not judge people by today's standards. In those days, it was legal and pretty common for older men to marry very young women. The laws have changed but when Ali married a 16 and a 17 year old women, the times were very different and such things were legal.
A lot of cousins would marry each other, too, btw, like Jerry Lee Lewis did (married his 13 year old cousin, if im not mistaken, and so did Franklin Roosevelt).
