Here’s some observations I usually tell my co workers/younger friends..hell,even older friends who are about to commit.

The more you spend on a ring/wedding the faker the relationship.

I’ve been married for twenty years, since graduating high school) ..I bought my wife a 40$ ring then..it’s the ring she wears to this day..our marriage cost 25$ at the vegas court house..


My wife refuses to trade up on a nicer ring no matter how many times I’ve tried..and personally deep inside ,it’s one of the reasons I love/trust my wife so much...our marriage isn’t about the Jones,or whatever dumb shit the modern day Instagram crowd is all about, which is image. Big rings bling but they don’t save marriages..the big wedding is a great way to feed 80 people that don’t give a fuck about you(tops you will have 5-10 immediate family that actually cares) the rest is just fluff. And starts your relationship off in dept..

My sister in laws wedding was 50 grand,ring was 10k ...they divorced two years later.that was a damn house down payment,or a nice investment egg...all gone in 6 hours.

Now,I’m not saying it’s a sure fire formula for disaster but it is a common theme I see with people.
