I liked it. The plot was very strange tho.Might as well introduce the other major contender to the thread:

It was good. But I think Here Comes the Boom takes the cake. Sure it's a B level comedy but it was damn good.
They got the MMA right. It didn't look overly choreographed. Everything was gritty and sloppy just like a real fight. You can tell Kevin was doing real drills and becoming a real fighter through the film and not just doing pretty nonsense.
I like Never back down but that's where it falls short. The fights were too clean, and pretty with flashy moves. It didn't capture MMA in the same way as a comedy.
When I watched HCTB in theater I was actually damn near standing up shadowboxing. Even the scene with them slipping in a wet outdoor cage reminded me of real event I was at. It was so real at times I forgot it was a comedy.
There's been more good video game movies than MMA movies.
Think about that.![]()

I liked that one Donnie Yen movie where he mixes MMA with wirefu and wushu. Was crazy good and used diffent jitz moves in ingenious ways.
Can't remember the name of it.
The one where he is an Asian Cop In Hong Kong. Can't be many of those movies out there.
Although not MMA A Prayer Before Dawn was pretty good.
and the theme song too !!!!!
Not mma tho bruvMight as well introduce the other major contender to the thread:

It's the 'Step Up' of mma movies (which are all crap. Even 'Warrior').
They all stunk, so the bar is very low. I kinda liked the one with the white stripper vs. Cung Le.

Although not MMA A Prayer Before Dawn was pretty good.
