So I train in muay thai and boxing and have been sparring regularly, and i've really been working on a lot of head movement. The problem that I seem to be having is that I'm always too far out of range after slipping punches to be able to counter, especially with hooks e.g a left hook counter after slipping a right straight kind of thing. So is there any suggestion on how I can get in closer with slipping punches to be able to counter them effectively, I tried to apply pressure and move forward constantly and other techniques but quite often I'm just out of range.

Sometimes people can't get a move because it just isn't the right move. Maybe you are finding it easier to slip straight punches and are just too far away for what you want to do, so throw a longer technique?
